Anatomy & Movement Trainings at Warrior Bridge are an opportunity to explore the inner workings of the human body and discover how we can use anatomical knowledge to fine tune our movement practices and teachings. Each immersion blends theory and practice. We look in detail at muscles, bones, and other factors at play in our bodies; we investigate sequencing, timing, and progress in the light of anatomical considerations; and we create movement practices ranging from foundational mobility & conditioning to handstands and acrobatics. These courses are an excellent opportunity to develop your skills as a teacher as well as bring nuance and new layers to your own movement practice.
Anatomy of Movement
July 26 - 30
In this 5-day module we will explore a map of the human body learning muscles, bones, joints, connective tissues and other relevant structures, and how this road map informs our practices of teaching movement. Training days will be part lecture/conversation and part interactive workshops where we apply anatomical awareness to mobility, flexibility and handstand training and coaching.
Who is this training for?
Our Anatomy of Movement Module is a fantastic resource for movement practitioners who are looking to understand what is going on below the surface of their practice. Personal trainers, yoga teachers and other movement professionals may also take this training to bolster their understanding of anatomy or increase their experience with mobility, flexibility, and handstand training.
Anatomy of Acro
August 2 - 6
Training will outline the solo movement components that set us up for success in the partner practice, as well as explore how to structure partner practices ranging from introductory/foundational through pops, whips and hand-to-hand.
Who is this training for?
Our Anatomy of Acro training is designed for dedicated acro practitioners who are interested in beginning their acro teaching journey. For those already teaching partner acro, they may utilize this training to bolster their understanding of the strength, flexibility and movement components that lead to success in the partner practice, and acquire tools for bettering their coaching skills from veteran teachers.
Do I need to take both trainings?
It is not required to attend both modules, though the trainings build off each other, and together offer a more comprehensive skill set for teaching solo movement and partner acrobatics.
Where will training be held?
Trainings will be held in NYC mainly at CirqueHaus (518 West 38th St), with possible additional time at Warrior Bridge (250 Front St).
Pricing:
Single module: $950
Both modules: $1495
This immersion is the product of decades of personal and professional practice of movement and study of anatomy. Our program offers insights of our common anatomy and movement potentials from a variety of movement influences. Based off of this body of knowledge, we will curate a toolbox drawing from the practices of physical therapy, mobility & strength science, hand balancing, inversions, acrobatics, yoga and other movement arts.
This training is designed for anyone who is seeking a science-based perspective to inform their teaching, sequencing and programming as well as proven tools and techniques from which to approach movement practices such as handstands and flexibility training, yoga, meditation & breath work and so much more!
